  • S2 E3: TOM MACDONALD - WITHDRAWALS
    Feb 15 2024

Tom MacDonald took the internet by storm several years ago by triggering every sensibilty known to liberals. He calls girls girls. He calls boys boys. Crazy, I know. But whether you are a hardcore blue haired liberal or a gun waving, monster truck driving right winger or somewhere in between (if that's possible these days), one song that we may all get to put our protest signs down to listen to together is Withdrawals. Addiction doesn't care about political or socioeconomic status. It's only goal is to destroy. If you've ever made a decision to turn your back on addiction you know full well that it does not give you up that easily. And if we are being completely honest we don't give up the addiction that easily either. "Talk about pitfalls, Surrounded by brick walls, This is what kids call, Withdrawals" -Tom MacDonald

  • S2 E2: GUNS N ROSES - APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION
    Jan 24 2024

This band needs no introduction. If you've never heard of them please come out from whatever rock you have been living under. Appetite For Destruction, the debut album from Guns and Roses, released in the summer of 1987 to rocky reviews. MTV didn't want to play their videos and music store refused to display their album due to the controversial cover art work. However, after a tweak to the cover and a push to get a little playtime on MTV by the next year the album was not only doing well, it was #1. Appetite For Destruction would go on to sell 30 million records worldwide.

  • S2 E1: GREEN DAY - DOOKIE (LONGVIEW)
    Jan 18 2024

Green Day did in 1994 what most punk bands only wish they could have done (the wishes they kept in their hearts for fear of being called a wanna be sell out), they hit the mainstream with a veracity like no other punk band before them. From music videos on MTV to mud slinging fights at Woodstock '94, this band may have been at the right place at the right time, but the conversations they helped bring to the mainstream may have been their biggest contribution.

  • S1 E15: NIRVANA - UNPLUGGED IN NEW YORK
    Nov 14 2023

On November 18th, 1993 one of the greatest live music performances took place and most people didn't know it was happening. Five months later, with the death of Kurt Cobain, the performance began to take on a life and meaning of its own. 30 years later we look back at the struggle of production and the genius of performance and ask the question: Who knows best, the professionals or the artists?

  • S1 E14: THE BEATLES - NOW AND THEN
    Nov 7 2023

The final Beatles song Now and Then has finally been released. What started out as a demo from John Lennon recorded sometime before his death in 1980, revisited again in 1995 by the three surviving Beatles at the time (George Harrison later passed away in 2001), and finally completed through the help of Peter Jackson (director of the Lord of the Rings films). This song was made possible only because of the use of AI technology. So AI is a good thing, right? Or maybe it's going to be used to take over CEO positions at rum companies and eventually the world. Who knows?! But if AI spells the end of the world at least it helped generate this cool tune to sing along with as the world disintegrates.

  • S1 E13: POST MALONE - AUSTIN
    Oct 31 2023

I keep a short list of celebrities that I would love to meet in person tucked away in my brain for good measure, Post Malone is on that list. His ability to reach deep within himself and draw his listeners into the process of expression is admirable to say the least. Lyrically, I believe he has encapsulated the feelings of an entire generation, a generation who has had more resources and technology available to them each promising a new way to fill the void they realize within themselves, instead only to find new ways of being disappointed and left empty. Post Malone speaks from that place, that empty place.

  • S1 E12: BLINK 182 - ONE MORE TIME
    Oct 24 2023

A lot can happen in 12 years. That's how long its been between Blink 182's last album Neighborhoods and their latest, One More Time. The original members Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker, are back together and in full force. Does this mean one more time for one more album or does this mean so much more?

  • S1 E11: 2PAC - HIT 'EM UP
    Oct 17 2023

On September 7, 1996 Tupac Shakur was shot while in the passenger seat of his car moments after attending a Mike Tyson boxing match at the MGM in Las Vegas, Nevada. Six days later, on September 13 he succumbed to his wounds leaving behind a legacy of music and big screen performances. Now, 27 years later an arrest has finally been made in his murder case. What caused a young man's life to be cut so short? Is there anything we can learn from all the violence that occurred in the East Coast versus West Coast rivalry of the 90's? And after all the smoked had cleared, who won anyways?
