The New Jersey Devils dropped their first preseason matchup to the New York Islanders by a score of 4-2. They had a good showing in the first period, but the last two belonged to the Islanders. Nico Hischier and Jesper Bratt were a good duo. Dougie Hamilton and Jacob Markstrom were also impressive. Sheldon Keefe explained his mindset heading into preseason pregame.
