Cornelius came from humble beginnings, where he grew up on a large council estate in Grangetown, Middlesbrough, and fought his way to success, becoming a British super middleweight champion and WBF middleweight boxing champion.
Cornelius' memoirs highlight the struggles of a young boy trying to survive in a poor working-class part of Northeastern England. The story is bittersweet, depicting tragedy, hardship, humor, humanity, love, and success.
