The continued story of Divided Mountain sets the scene with Kate Parker now married to Garrett Carrington. With the past behind her, an unwelcomed visitor surfaces in Kate's life, trying to regain what was broken. Kate later learns her husband's brother, Callen, has emotional injuries from a past motorcycle accident and needs to move back home. Callen tries to have a relationship with his father, who is not used to showing affection. While making life changes, Callen meets Cassie Adams, a history student who has a special friendship that turns to an understanding of his circumstances.
