À propos de cette écoute
New York Times and internationally best-selling author Jussi Adler-Olsen delivers an exhilarating mystery in the Department Q series, featuring Detective Carl Mørck and his enigmatic assistants, Assad and Rose.
In the middle of his usual hard-won morning nap in the basement of police headquarters, Carl Mørck, head of Department Q, receives a call from a colleague working on the Danish island of Bornholm. Carl is dismissive when he realizes that a new case is being foisted on him, but a few hours later, he receives some shocking news that leaves his headstrong assistant Rose more furious than usual. Carl has no choice but to lead Department Q into the tragic cold case of a vivacious seventeen-year-old girl who vanished from school, only to be found dead hanging high up in a tree. The investigation will take them from the remote island of Bornholm to a strange sun-worshipping cult, where Carl, Assad, Rose, and newcomer Gordon attempt to stop a string of new murders and a skilled manipulator who refuses to let anything - or anyone - get in the way.

Narration not as good, but not life-threatening
Back in the 90s when Armageddon came out, it got panned so hard that half of America collectively cringed before even watching it. When I did finally watch it I thought, "well, that was fine". Not exceptional, but a fine movie experience, and just what you'd expect from a Hollywood disaster movie.
This book and it's narration offer a similar experience, which if nothing else will make you feel young again
Other reviews note that Steven Pacey wasn't brought back for this (and the next) installment. So no, the narration is not exceptional in the way only Pacey can make it. Reading the reviews though you'd think it was utterly unlistenable. It's fine. Bit bland, but fine.
Reviews also talk about the story being farfetched. It was fine - just what you've come to expect (if a bit heavyhanded on the Assad language jokes. Seems like the publisher started insisting on "more of that" a couple of books back and it's almost offensive at this point).
If you've enjoyed the series to now, lower your Pacey-Standard narration expectations and give it a go. You get Pacey back for Victim 2117, it'll be ok.
