À propos de cette écoute
Okiku wants vengeance...and she gets it. Whenever there's a monster hurting a child - the same way she was hurt 300 years ago in Japan - her spirit is there to deliver punishment. But one American boy draws her like no other. The two are pulled into a world of eerie doll rituals and dark Shinto exorcisms that will take them from the American Midwest to the remote valleys and shrines of Aomori, Japan. The boy is not a monster, but something evil writhes beneath his skin, trapped by a series of intricate tattoos. Can Okiku protect him? Or is her presence only bringing more harm?

Absolute Gem!!!
I absolutely love horrors that draws onto actual real life facts. You see, my mom is what the western world would call a 'medium' and she also specialize in the passing of spirits but mainly she is an exorcist. I have learnt a lot about it and a lot of things in this book I have witnessed myself in real life.
Evil/mower spirits DO plague the humans, like parasites and the putrefaction of emotional wounds attracts them like flies onto carcasses. When you don't heal from trauma, you are more susceptible to these evil spirits that will feed of your pain and keep you in that state so they can keep feeding. Healing can sometimes make them go away, but sometimes the wounds are too old (many past lives) and exorcism is required. This book is literally talking about this!!! And it's real people. It's not that much exaggerated!
Andi Arndt does a great job at recounting this well woven story, the suspens is tight up to the end of the book.
I am already onto volume 2, so in love
