À propos de cette écoute
Brought to you by Penguin.
Dive in to the feel-good rom-com of the year.
Josh has done everything right. It's New Year's Eve, and he and girlfriend, Jade, have their own pod on the London Eye. He's got the champagne and the truffles. The ring and the romance. And he's just popped the question.
Unfortunately, he gets it wrong.
So horribly wrong that by the time he's back on ground he's single, jobless and homeless. Realising he can't trust his own judgement, Josh decides to put his faith in fate. From now on every choice will be decided by the flip of a coin. It's reckless, scary, liberating and insanely wrong. But Josh has tried the right way and look where he ended up.
And maybe the girl of his dreams really is one flip of a coin away?

Toss a coin to the narrator
Honestly, I went for the audiobook because I was craving more Jonathan Bailey content after binging the second season of Bridgerton and he read this with his usual impeccable greatness. This is a romcom from the male protagonist's POV, written by a male author, so I was actually really looking forward to diving into this story.
We follow a guy named Josh during a year of transition, at the beginning of which he gets dumped by his longtime girlfriend and is at a complete loss about which direction his life is supposed to go. He decides to flip a coin everytime he comes at a crossroad, to the dismay of his two best friends.
I have nothing to say about Josh's growth and personal journey, because I think it was done in a realistic (albeit comedic) way. The big flaw of this novel, however, appears to lie with its romcom side. I think it was a little too far-fetched and I was a bit over it by the end of the book... It's not bad per se, but it is something I could have done without, which is an odd thing to say about a romance novel. I still liked it, but I didn't love it, is what I'm trying to say.
