This could have been a good listening experience but…

The heroine was not at all likeable, she was self-centered ’ always looking in the past and acting as she saw fit without considering the consequences. Moreover she needed a therapist and was always analysing her feelings. She was supposed to be strong, but I found her weak’ scheming and headstrong. Every time she met a problem, she went to her bed and spent days there. Every time she discussed with her therapist she was depressed. Even at the end of the book, when she was supposed to apologise for her behaviour, she manages to put the blame on the hero and asked him to apologise because she explained that he was the cause of her actions. This is how abusers put the blame on their victimes because they consider it was their fault.

The male hero was weak and compromising to every whims of hers. He was likeable but I pity the guy because she has betrayed him at every turn and is ready to betray him again if she thinks that she is right in doing so or that she has to, to reach her goal. She uses her friendship to ask her friends to help her when she needs them and consider that « she will take the responsibility for it » as if it will solve the problem of distrust from her mate afterwards. So I did not like her at all, and did not find any redeeming qualities in her, despite the author’s efforts to do so.

I persisted to listen the audiobook till the end, but it was painful.

So I do not recommend this book even if the performance of the reader was good.
