    Plunged me back into Cassandra Clare’s lovely world building. Fantasy is my guilty pleasure and this was just the right blend of intrigue, the romance serving the plot rather than the other way round. Expecting YA, I was pleasantly surprised that this was adult. The Ashkar being clearly inspired by Judaism was refreshing and new. narration was very good, and the characters were generally consistent between the two narrators.
