While on a bus tour on the Scottish moors in the mid-1990s, amateur sleuths John and Sara Todd overhear what sounds like a plot to murder. In a castle hotel, they wake to a scuffle in the hallway. When a body is found in the pond the next morning, Scotland Yard and the local constabulary are called in. John and Sara, with their traveling friends the Slaters and Arthurs, form the "Committee", and they are on the case!
