À propos de cette écoute
Munutu Terra is a fantasy fiction novel about a civilization that collectively worships a deity called Munutu Terra. The Munutu Terrans live in a walled city of the same name, governed by the nepotistic rulership of Adam and Eve, genetic replications of the original descendants of Munutu Terra.
Every year, all inhabitants of the age of 26 are sent beyond the city walls for the first time in a customary ritual called the Search, in order to experience life outside of the city’s (and deity’s) protection and, thereby, come to appreciate its self-sustaining importance when they gratefully return.
Judas and Lucas set out on the Search amongst the others who have come of age, and in the course of their travels, they are abducted by the Caverna Vitae, a religious schism that broke off from the Munutu Terrans hundreds of years ago in order to live by their own beliefs in underground caves. Amongst the Caverna Vitae, Judas learns that the citizens of Munutu Terra have been secretly controlled by their government through implanted brain chips, and that he himself is a genetic replicantion of Adam and has been designated as the next ruler. Judas and Lucas quickly become embroiled in the Caverna Vitae’s schemes for revenge, Adam and Eve’s secret enterprise of rule by mind manipulation, and their own emerging and competing visions of the most virtuous way of governing a nation - through hereditary monarchy or elected democracy - each venture proving to have its very own brand of trials, tribulations, sacrifices, and betrayals.
