Description
This tale crafted by William Sambrot could have been a classic episode of The Twilight Zone.
"The Panamint Indians won't go near those mountains They have positive beliefs - not legends about beings from other worlds who dig in the hills for shining metals ... Who have great ships that fly. Beings who can make a man who comes too near die of thirst even though he carries water at his belt. Beings who can control the minds of men."
Three pilots crash into those mountains chasing mysterious objects. The leader of the group has his ship on autopilot while he photographs the object he sees and doesn't crash. The film is developed, but there is no object. When the Brass from Washington arrive and interrogate him, the surviving pilot provides them with irrefutable evidence of what is really happening, which they take with them. Moments after they leave, the Brass show up again.
