Mary hoping to leave the hardships and loneliness of her past behind embarks on a new life running a bar in a remote Australian town. Seeking truth and meaning to his life he initiates a cooperative in the East End of London to provide employment to the destitute immigrants.
Inadvertently treading on the toes of London’s elite he soon becomes embroiled in the crime and depravity of Victorian society. Who will survive the ghosts, secrets, lies and devious dealings in the new industrial world?
