Caro Richmond owns her own bakery in Cypress Corners. She suffered a heartbreaking loss three years ago, but it isn't the loss of her fiancé that haunts her. Work is her focus now. She'll leave the living to somebody else.
When Eli comes to work in Cypress, he's immediately taken with Caro. She's gorgeous, but she also seems like she needs some fun in her life. He's just the guy to give it to her. They begin to date, and both of them start to think this might be more than just fun and easy.
