À propos de cette écoute
At an early point in his yacht delivery, career, Capt. Bob Ventura had become painfully aware of the dangers and possible pitfalls of pursuing yacht deliveries in the dangerous waters of the Caribbean during the 70s and 80s. He began moving boats to South America at a time when the Columbian cartels had a commanding and very dangerous presence in parts of the Caribbean, but the thrill of danger and adventure overpowered any misgivings he may have had. His code of ethics became his secret for not getting burned in his adventurous and often dangerous pursuits, maintaining a delicate balance between thrill-seeking and responsibility. Though he was drawn to adrenaline-pumping experiences like a moth to a flame, he took care never to get too close to the flame, just close enough to feel the heat, focusing on his passion for adventure and not getting lured into compromising situations for the promise of easy money,
Capt. Bob Ventura was able to continue pursuing his adventurous lifestyle, delivering yachts in the Caribbean during those dangerous times while minimizing the risk and ensuring that he lived by his self-defined code. He ran a successful yacht delivery business between Miami and Cartagena from 1974 to 1984 avoiding many potentially deadly encounters and learning to blend in with a very dangerous and unpredictable drug smuggling culture. A ballsy and fearless attitude with a big dose of luck, carried Ventura unscathed through those dangerous waters and allowed him to live to tell the story.
