Eric Sparks graduated with a BA in English with an emphasis in Literature from Union University, Jackson, TN. He firmly believes that society could gain great benefits by strengthening their sense of empathy through fictional works, as well as their steadfastness to cling to what they know to be true. Though Eric enjoys reading general fiction and respects those who write it well, he has always preferred to write in Fantasy. Fantasy makes it easier to leave the baggage both writer and reader carry with them when witnessing stories set in our world, leaving prejudices and defenses at the door (or cover), and simply focusing on the stories and characters themselves. These Fantasy worlds have their own issues that in spirit mirror our own, but in circumstance are far enough removed to strip us of our preconceived beliefs. Once the story has been explored and mined for valuable perspectives and content, we are then able to bring those Truths back to our own world and apply them.
