I don't understand
The main character should be a smart person stranded on an hostile world with master trying to kill him and elves trying to capture him.
He was paranoid in the first ten chapters, then forgot about all the things he was cautious about...
Minor Spoiler
After battling 3 elves, getting poisoned, and almost dying multiple times, he finally end the fight by killing one of them and incapacitate the others. He killed one of them, thinks that killing make enemies of the family and friends of the dead, but still decide to release the two that saw him kill the male elf( male elf who we later learn, are rare and precious).
Even when battling elves that are trying to capture him while using legal force against the mother of his child, he still uses nonletal force...
I really don't understand this main character, doing the opposite of what he is saying or thinking...
I was excited about a smart main character using his background as a PhD holder to survive into the wilderness, but even after more than half of the book I never saw him...
