Lorde and Master

Andrea Warren pushed her hand through her thick, dark hair and sighed. The project was not going how she wanted it to go. Her partners were well-intentioned, but they really had no idea what the neighborhood they were working with needed. Everybody she was working with was white and gave little to no thought to the needs of the black kids or understood what their lives were like.

Andrea walked to the elevator, careful not to make eye contact with anyone. She felt humiliated. She had practically thrown herself at the head of the corporation. It's not like he wasn't interested, but still, could she have possibly seemed any more desperate? If she wasn't careful, he was going to think that all she was after was a quick promotion by gaining the boss' favor. She had worked too hard all throughout her career to be simply handed things based on her body and not her intelligence...if he thought she was trying to sleep her way to the top.
