  • First of all, I should say the word Palestine essentially comes from the idea of the Philistines that inhabited this area. The Philistines were the enemies of Israel during the Judges period, part of that time. David fought against the Philistines.

    Remember Goliath? He was a Philistine. And Palestine is that area that belonged to the Philistines. And so it's the whole country.

    And then the country is divided up into different divisions. And of course, at different times in history, it had different divisions. And we're concerned with the New Testament times, but before you get there, you have to study the Old Testament times.
