His passion for education led him to create Education 4 Kids International, supporting schools in Uganda. Kelly has been involved with Blessings Under the Bridge, advocating for Spokane’s homeless population. Now, as VCR’s Board President, he continues to honor the sacrifices of veterans who served before him. In Episode #5, we sit down with Shawn Durnen from Nine9Line Veteran Services: NineLine Veteran Services works tirelessly to provide client centered evidence-based practices for our military, veterans, and their families. It is through these practices that NineLine has been able to cultivate a culture of competency both in the South Sound region statewide in Washington and Nationally. With several of our partners, key stakeholders, and by bridging the gap in care to our most at risk and in need military community members.

In Episode #3, we sit down with Sonja Jordan, Cassidy Cooley, Yayoi Jiko, and Mark from Paws For Purple Hearts Paws for Purple Hearts improves the lives of America’s Warriors facing mobility challenges and trauma-related conditions such as PTSD and TBI by providing the highest quality assistance dogs and canine-assisted therapeutic programs, and by building public awareness about the important role dogs play in helping Warriors along the road to recovery. Paws for Purple Hearts is the first program of its kind to offer Canine Assisted Warrior Therapy, also known as Canine Assisted Therapeutic Intervention, to Veterans and active-duty military personnel.
