  • Message in Your Ear is a podcast hosted by David Person, broadcaster, journalist, documentary director, and media consultant based in Huntsville, Ala. In this podcast he is the voice on the street highlighting the lived experiences of people. In season 1 David shares with us "Black Teens Being" using the voices of teens, parents, politicians, and experts to explore what it means to grow up as a black child and teen today. Each episode will combine hip-hop beats and styles with excerpts of interviews and news audio to create a sonic montage of narrative journalism that informs and inspires.

    • Parenting in the Age of Police Brutality

      In this episode of Message in Your Ear we hear from teens about their encounters with law enforcement. We also talk to parents about how they prepare their teens to encounter the police so that they stay alive. Given our current climate and the recent death of Walter Wallace Jr. a 27 year old struggling with mental health issues, this is an important episode for you to listen to and share with your teens. Black teens being need understand the reality of police brutality and receive instruction on how to navigate it.
