  • Carol came from a “medical family” and she herself worked as a physical therapist. So when her dear husband’s cancer diagnosis was given, she pragmatically got into gear and started checking off all the boxes needed for their journey forward. What Carol was completely unprepared for, and couldn’t even imagine would impact her the way it did, like a steel wrecking ball, was after he died. How did Carol support herself and her husband throughout his journey with cancer? How did she find her feet again after his death? Learn some of the many important things a person in this situation needs to know to make it more bearable for both yourself and your dying loved one. Bio Carol Banens’ expertise comes from her personal experience with loss. The death of her husband six years ago sent her on a journey from deep grief to a place of gratitude and joy. This loss led her to become a Transformational Life Coach, a Certified Grief Educator, and a Grief to Gratitude Coach. Carol inspires people to integrate their grief into their life through speaking and coaching people to implement her C.H.O.O.S.E method. She is also the author of her book Kintsugi Your Heart: The Art of Living with Grief. She leads by example, helping others to find a life of meaning after loss.
