À propos de cette écoute
Joining us at Audible Studios is British journalist and author Sarah Sands. Sands began her career training at the Sevenoaks Chronicle before moving to the Evening Standard as features editor, then associate editor. Her next move was to The Daily Telegraph, where she assumed responsibility for the Saturday edition.
Sands was appointed the first female editor of The Sunday Telegraph and later became consultant editor of the Daily Mail. After then working as editor in chief of the UK edition of Reader's Digest and editor of the London Evening Standard, Sands was announced as editor of BBC Radio 4's Today programme in 2017.
Dispersed throughout her time in journalism, Sands has written three novels: Playing the Game (2003), Hothouse (2005) and The Villa (2006).
She has recently written and narrated the introduction to the book Today: A History of Our World Through 60 Years of Conversations & Controversies, which is what we talk to her about in this interview, as well as what her job involves as Today editor, the words of caution that were given to her when she started the job and the sort of feedback (read ‘polite complaints') that get written in to the show.
