    Lots of hype around the spice in this book, and there is a ton and it is well narrated, no complaints there.

    That being said, the amount of TWs needed is insane and as an adult no matter how much you want to appreciate the fun and entertaining element of it all, it’s still difficult to be okay with it.

    Even if you are willing to put all that aside and simply view the book as entertaining fiction, it’s uncomfortable.
    What I found most disturbing is the contrast between chapters. He is supposedly some hacker/pedophile killer, you go through so many elements of him being disgusted by predators and him saving young kids, and yet suddenly you’re supposed to be turned on 5 pages later when there are spicy scenes?
    They aren’t plots that you really want to put together.

    I loved it !! I already got the chills when I read it on paper but listening to it for my re read hit so different ! I totally recommend getting it

    The book isn't as twisted and awful as what people (on booktok) said, which is a good thing! I was so scared, but I wanted to form my own opinion, so I read it, and I really enjoyed it. The different plots and the story were amazing! The relationship was definitely kind of weird, and it is unconventional, but this is a book of fiction for adults. And as readers, we have access to all the thoughts of Adeline, and I think we can understand her mindset pretty easily. Anyway, amazing!

    L’histoire est haletante, on a du mal à s’arrêter! Les personnages ont un peu de profondeur par rapport à la moyenne de ce genre de littérature, Une fois de plus, un homme avec une farandole de red flags qu’on adore, et une narration très très chouette puisque peu importe le POV, quand un personnage annexe parle, sa voix sera celle de son genre!
    Niveau spice, 5,5🌶️/5, attention certaines scènes peuvent choquer, ce n’est pas du tout une gentille romance.

    First of all, i've tried this book because i had multiple people recommending it. I love dark romance and especially ennemies to lovers. Too bad this is absolutely not what this book is. That's an extremely badly written rape glorification fanfic with Stockholm symdrom victim involved. Btw, i've checked the triggers warning before reading. Since one of the main character is as rapist killer, i naively though the rape one was about his targets.

    I almost stopped after the 3 or 4 first chapters because of the repetition of sentences and words non stop made just to try giving "depth" to the book. And after the first description of the main character Z. The "incredibly sexy and handsome" smelling like leather and smoke, heterochromia and eye scars gave me 12yo fanfic vibes from 2005, and some nausea. But i've payed for the book so... Might as well listen to it. And the Gigi story part is not bad, it's the only plot line really interesting.

    Then come the real problems. I can deal with bad written and fanfic vibes. I can't when the autor try really hard to make the male characters seems likable by making him the savior of every victims in this world to justify his "instability" and coat the fact he's, in the end, just another rapist in this story. No matter how much you romanticize it, and try hard to make this sexy and dark, it's just glorified rape. Without even talking about everything else he's doing to the other main character.

    So yeah, thanks for the recommendations, but no thanks.
