Although Mei didn’t need the money, her friend Jule convinced her to help him serve at some rich guy’s New Year’s Eve party. The fact the man’s mansion was located by the beach, along with the desperation in her friend’s voice, leads her to commit to helping him out. The extra $300 assisted with saying "yes" to working the party with him.
Going to a party was the last thing Carey wanted to do tonight. But since Sean insisted that he would enjoy himself and that there would be some interesting people that he could possibly make some business deals with, he decides he doesn't want to miss out on the opportunity. Making money is always a motivator in his life.
When these two cross paths at the party, the scent of Mei pulls Carey in like a magnet. Everywhere she goes, for at least an hour, he makes sure to stay close by. When he finally makes the move to speak to her, sparks fly between them that neither one of them were expecting.
