You know we really don’t allow ourselves enough Grace. So let’s start there.

Let’s give ourselves a pat on the back or a round of applause to feel some grace.

Most of you already know me as Jo, but for those of you who don’t already know this voice, I’m your Host Lady J and Welcome to Episode 1 of This Can’t Be Life Podcast where we breakdown all things of the millennial life.

Why are we starting with Grace?

Breakdown-we deal with a lot, like a lot. We’re expected to

      Go to work

Having to pay bills now :(

Try to maintain a social life

      Make time for loved ones

      Do chores

      Have a healthy active lifestyle

      Have a routine love life

      Have kids

Bruh, like how? And you expect us not to drink or smoke? Are you crazy?!

So I say allow some Grace because it can be easy to think you’re not doing enough when nothing is working out. So I say turn around and look at how far you’ve come and take a breath. I’ve learned this the hard way many times, if you don’t allow yourself some space to take a beat and relax your body will force you to.

We have to remember we’re only human and the fact that we get up everyday and do what we gotta do is a fuckin miracle.

That’s why its important to enjoy the little things in life. I acknowledge how difficult that can be at times when life is making us work overtime because you know inflation, and also because we feel like it’s impossible. And to be honest…time is a bitch, it doesn’t seem fair at how quick it flies by but in a way its a blessing because in the right moment we realize what’s important and that we should do whatever brings us joy and surround ourselves with those who bring us joy, laughter, and love.

On this show, we’re going to get into everything..I mean everything

      Grown Up vs. Growing Up

      How life has changed

      Society: Then vs. Now

      Familial expectations

Mental Health (include hotlines for suicide etc)

      Changing or Evolving?

Definition of success according to who?

Out: living out loud and proud vs out loud ignorance

Knowing when and how to enforce boundaries w/ family&friends: you can’t control someone else’s emotions/reactions/responses

“The American Dream” is fraud : timing is everything

Why choosing your own path will always be controversial and create judgement from society, family/generation before us

      Burning Bridges

Changing certain narratives out there such as strong black woman

      And more

Join me on this podcast every week as we get into it all, the good, the bad, and the outrageous. Let’s talk about the real and the unreal. Since we’re grown now, let’s say what needs to be said.

      Thanks for tuning in. Bye.
