TOP TEN '80's LISTS and CREEPY FACEBOOK ALGORITHMS

  • Résumé

  • TOP TEN '80's LISTS and FACEBOOK ALGORITHM

Today's episode of TALK JAM is both fun and a little creepy!

In Jam 1 we run through our Top 10 lists of favorite '80's things, though I'm not sure we really hit ten each... but they sure are fun to talk about! We may have updated lists later, but for now, it was fun remembering STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION and Luke & Laura on GENERAL HOSPITAL!

In Jam 2 we talk about the all-powerful Facebook algorithms, which in 2018 were upgraded because Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's founder, wanted more 'engagement' on the platform and thought that hostile or angry comments led to more engagement. That's not even talking about the Instagram algorithm that caused suicidal thoughts in fragile young girls who were concerned about body image issues...

Today's TALK JAM is sponsored by the audiobook of STEALING FIRE by Susan Sloate, a deeply romantic story about Broadway and passion, set in 1980's New York. Check it out here:
