  • Episode 211 – Hostile Territory and Hard Concepts
    Nov 1 2022
Today, Chandalee and Jenn chat with another of their pastors, Michael Johnson, about some hot-button terms in apologia–critical theory and intersectionality. They know these are hard to grasp concepts and many believers even wonder why they're important, much less how they impact every day life. Listen in as they get some basic definitions and begin to unravel the complexities of them. (Notice we said begin to unravel?) This isn't a one time topic to listen to for fun facts to throw out at the next party. It's going to take intention by believers to hear, comprehend and put into practice ways to defend our faith in a winsome way to a culture that is hostilely against us. Grab your favorite coffee or tea and pull up a chair! And, be sure to come back next week for the rest of the conversation! • Episode 207 – Stringing the Pearls About Being Talmid
    Sep 27 2022
Jewish Rabbis use a concept called "stringing the pearls" when teaching. These "pearls" show connections between text in the Torah, the Prophets, the Writings, etc. In the New Testament, Rabbi Jesus did the same thing—He continually pulled pearls of the Old Testament together for those He was teaching. Today, Chandalee and Jenn are talking about some Old and New Testament passages that illustrate what being talmid (learners) look likes. Enjoy!! Sep 20 2022
Haver. That's a different word. What does it mean? As a talmid (student/learner), we shouldn't go it alone, we should have a haver (a study friend) to go with us. This week, Chandalee and Jenn continue their conversation with Lois Tverberg, author of Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus, about the benefits of having a haver and being in a haverim (plural of haver) as we journey through our life of faith.
