A good job, a beautiful wife, a big house in a nice neighbourhood; there's really only one thing missing from the picture: a baby. But motherhood is a serious undertaking, especially for a wife who has always valued her selfhood above all else. And there's also a bigger problem: Temi, the wife's best friend who swears she knows her better than her husband.

Set over the course of one day, husband, wife and friend toe the lines of compromise and betrayal. Told in three parts, each voice as compelling as the other, three people's lives, and their visions of themselves and each other begin to slowly unravel, ending with a startling discovery which throws everyone's integrity into question.

Full of ambiguity, idiosyncratic wit and a healthy dose of wealth and snobbery THE THREE OF US is part-Black suburban millennial comedy of manners, part-domestic noir and is for readers of MY SISTER THE SERIAL KILLER by Oyinkan Braithwaite, SUCH A FUN AGE by Kiley Reid, and Sally Rooney.

Sharp, astute and wickedly funny… a taut, darkly comic read that packs a serious punch (YOMI ADEGOKE, author of The List)
A funny, terrifically entertaining read
A treat… Dazzling, dextrous and droll, this millennial noir is a taut exploration of culture and the politics of relationships (BOLU BABALOLA, author of Love in Colour)
Switching points of view among the three, this debut is viciously funny, different than anything you’ve read lately, and at the same time, strangely relatable
A delicious comedy noir
Sharp, astute and wickedly funny - Ore Agbaje-Williams' sharp wit and perfectly realised protagonists make for a taut, darkly comic read that packs a serious punch (Yomi Adegoke, author of THE LIST)
A treat of a debut. Agbaje-Williams has a gift of gliding between the sharpest driest humour and damning emotional revelations that incisively exposes the vulnerabilities, fallacies and messiness that line the relationships with those we are closest to. Dazzling, dextrous and droll, this millennial noir is a taut exploration of culture and the politics of relationships (Bolu Babalola, author of LOVE IN COLOUR)
Deftly plotted and wickedly enjoyable... I tore through this, and you will, too. The triad of voices seems to flow spontaneously, but is intricately assembled to result in maximum drama (Naoise Dolan, author of EXCITING TIMES)
Ore Agbaje-Williams has that elusive Sally Rooney style of writing: it seems simple and easy to do but is incredibly difficult to pull off... Enjoy
Unique and completely captivating, The Three of Us absorbed me. When I finished I wanted to go back and read it from the beginning again (Annie Lord, author of NOTES ON HEARTBREAK)

I saw this advertised by Oprah and was looking forward to a good book. It is a story told through 3 viewpoints those of the protagonists, the annoying friend, the lifeless married friend and the pathetic husband. The story has no grip and no crescendo. I would not recommend.

Boring and poorly written and over in two secs
