Editors Select, November 2016 - I was on maternity leave over the summer when I received an early copy of The Sun Is Also a Star. Thankfully my mom was around that day to watch the baby, because I couldn’t put it down. Not only is Nicola Yoon answering the call for more diversity in YA literature, she is also creating compelling, honest, and memorable characters in her fiction. The Sun Is Also a Star, which is a finalist for the National Book Award, is told from the alternating perspectives of two teenagers - one a Korean American boy who is on the "doctor tract" despite his proclivity for poetry; the other a Jamaican girl who is desperately trying to save her family from their imminent deportation. Over a single day, we watch how fate weaves its way into their lives. I recently got to listen to the audiobook, narrated by Bahni Turpin, Raymond Lee, and Dominic Hoffman - whose performances ensure Yoon’s work will soon become essential listening. Not amazing but very nice
The book isnt fantastic but its a nice read. The performances are great, the writing cleaver, the story engaging. A nice YA.

Feeling rejuvenate ❤
I don't know where to begin actually.. At first I didn't want to write a review because I don't know how to explain books, movies, tell stories etc.. But I "kind of " know how to express how I feel.
I'm a book worm but lately I found it really difficult to read books unfortunately. So I wanted a change of "scenery", a new way to experience books, a new way to love novels again and feel .
This book was recommended by "MazeLee" and I really liked the part that they shared.
I don't know if it's because of the format, the story or how my emotion are set up right now, but I ended up crying so much, laughing deeply and feeling every single thoughts and emotions felt by the protagonists.
One of my fave parts is this quote "part of falling in love with someone is also falling in love with yourself".
I actually can't find something negative to say about this so 5/5 on everything 😆😆
P.S. I also listen to this book during eight hours straight.

The audiobook is really good
The audiobook is amazing, the readers did an excellent job. The story is very fast-paced and hard to put down, but it gets a little too cheesy sometimes. Overall, cute story but not for everyone and especially not for people who don't enjoy romance books.
