Now he is that old man! He is a 69-year-old retired professor of psychology and counseling, a grandpa, and a human being. In this essay he shares what he’s learned about living. On September 8, 2018 the author was attending a Reiki workshop in Wake Forest, North Carolina, while Hurricane Florence was barreling down on the Carolinas. This poem contrasts deep loving meditation and the terrible destructive force of an oncoming hurricane.
